Good questions

How many days should I spend in Palermo?

One full day is enough for a selected central route. Three days allow space for the historic center, Kalsa and one coastal or cultural outing. Count arrival and departure days separately if they are mostly spent in transit.

Do I need a car?

A central city stay can work without a car. Walk between nearby sights and compare public transport for longer journeys. A car can be useful for a wider rural itinerary but introduces parking and restricted-zone planning. See Getting Around.

Where should I stay for a first visit?

The historic center prioritizes walking to sights. Politeama–Libertà offers a different city base with broader streets and transport connections to investigate. Mondello prioritizes beach time and requires separate journeys for sightseeing.

Can I combine Monreale and Mondello in one day?

It may be possible with private transport, but this guide recommends choosing one. They sit in different directions and each deserves unhurried time. Add a second outing on another day rather than spending the day connecting them.

Is the center step-free?

Do not assume it is. Uneven paving, kerbs, busy lanes and historic interiors require planning. Ask attractions and accommodation about the exact entrance and route needed, and leave flexibility for taxis or shorter outings.

Is street food suitable for food allergies?

Ingredients, recipes and cross-contact vary by vendor. Ask directly about the specific allergy and preparation. A dish name or a traditionally plant-based ingredient list is not a guarantee of suitability.

Are current fares and opening hours listed?

The guides deliberately link to current official operator information instead of reproducing details that can quickly become stale. Check your travel date and any closure notices before committing to a route.

Can I book or send a message here?

No booking engine or message backend is configured. The contact page provides a clearly marked draft form that does not send or store messages.
